Izan Shimomura (1865 - 1949 )

 He was the artist and Haiku poet from the Meiji era to the Showa era.
 He was born in Ehime Pref. in 1865.
 He studied painting with Shotaro Koyama.
 He studied Haiku with Shiki Masaoka.
 His real name was Sumitaka Shimomura.
 He died in 1949 at the age of 85.
