                 Taiko Amano (1905－1999)

                                 A Japanese painter and poet,
                                Taiko Amano was born in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, in 1905.
                                He studied Japanese-style painting under the artist Kayo Yamaguchi,
                                progressing from the Kyoto School of Arts and Crafts to the Kyoto Special School of Painting
                                (now the Kyoto City University of Arts).
                                While working as a teacher at institutions such as high schools,
                                he garnered numerous awards at various exhibitions,
i                               ncluding 16 times at the Nitten, five times at the Teiten, and twice at the Bunten.
                               He was also renowned as a poet?known as Ryuichi Amano?
                               and published collections of poetry as well as volumes combining poetry and art.
                               He remained active as both a painter and a poet until his later years, passing away in 1999.
