Educator, born in Kanagawa Prefecture in 1841.
He was friends with Kusakabe Meikaku and Iwaya Ichiroku.
He went to Edo and studied at Koga Juku,
read a wide range of Japanese and Chinese calligraphy,
and became well versed in poetry and haiku.
He opened a private school and educated many famous
people
in Hachioji at the time.
He died in 1918 at the age of 77.
